Many founders dream of establishing their companies in Silicon Valley, and the startup Jumpstart has just launched a new service specifically designed to help them secure the coveted visa. The news comes just months after the company raised a pre-seed round with prominent angel investors such as Matthew Allan (former chief credit officer at PayPal and Google ), Brian Requarth ( Latitud ), Marcelo Sampaio ( Hashdex ), and Daniel Silva and Rohan Ramanath ( Hyperplane ), among others.

Founded in January 2024 by Fabiano Rocha (CEO) and Mateus Nobre (CTO), colleagues at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), the company began as a fintech that financed green card applications. In February, Jumpstart ceased operations as a fintech and began offering immigration advisory services, combining expertise in statistical models, artificial intelligence, and legal review.

Recently, the company decided to launch a service specifically aimed at startup founders.

"The founders visa is one of the most objective, with more specific criteria, and we use statistical models to predict the likelihood of approval, which allows us to guarantee that the visa applicant will be approved. Currently, for other visas, we offer a 50% refund if the applicant is not approved. For founders, the guarantee is 100%," says Fabiano Rocha, in an exclusive interview with Startups.

The so-called "founder's package" includes not only immigration advice, but also partnerships for starting a business, accounting and tax planning, employee transfers, and even pet immigration.

  • company incorporation

  • accounting and tax planning

  • employee transfer

  • pet immigration

"The idea is not to be a one-stop shop, but a hub, with validated service recommendations, such as accounting," says the CEO.

According to Fabiano, these professionals can apply for either the O-1A work visa, intended for people with extraordinary abilities in science, education, business, or athletics, or the EB-1A or EB-2 NIW green card, options for those seeking permanent relocation. It's possible to first obtain an O-1A and then decide whether or not to apply for a green card. In both cases, it's necessary to demonstrate this "extraordinary ability."

Jumpstart uses its database, statistical models, and immigration-trained artificial intelligence to increase approval rates, streamline processes, and reduce costs. While a conventional process takes two to three months, the startup can submit a petition in one to two weeks .

Next year, the startup plans to raise a new round of investment to expand the service to the B2B segment, in addition to evolving into other types of visas.
